I last collaborated with Homesense in December 2015 and tbh, I don’t know why it’s taken so long for me to work with them again. It’s totally my fault, because they are dead easy to work with and every so often reach out to their database of bloggers to work on campaigns.
Anyway, enough gushing about how friendly the Homesense gang are – let’s talk about Christmas. More specifically, let’s talk about those “Christmas extras” we all like to get for our friends and family. Y’know, those little gifts you get to supplement their main presents and make the unwrapping fun last even longer.
Every year I like to get a few Christmas extras for my loved ones, often finding smaller presents that are a reflection of their personality or are simply something I know they’d like. So when I recently popped into the Homesense in Chichester, my goal was to look for those exact sort of gifts. Oh, and naturally things that would make an ace flatlay…priorities and all that.
I ended up picking up a few bits including the Ladybird The Quiet Night In book – have you read any of these books? They are so funny and as I flicked through this one I found myself smiling as I knew it was something my Mum would enjoy reading. So into the basket it went!
Not pictured is another gift I bought – but I can’t share it here as the recipient reads my blog! However, it was another one of those things that I spotted and thought “hey, they’d like that!” and into the basket it went, too. It was also something I haven’t seen anywhere else and as with anything at Homesense, was a great price.
Also not pictured, purely because it would have messed up the #flatlayvibes is a bunny dog toy I bought for our family dog Dexter. It’s super durable which is great because Dexter tends to end up ripping his stuffed toys within minutes, covering the living room floor with fluff, fluff and more fluff. Here’s hoping the bunny, which I’ve decided to call Flop, lasts longer!
But let’s get back to the items you can actually see here, eh? The chocolates were a stood-by-the-till impulse for my brother and his girlfriend. I really liked the Christmassy designs on the wrappers and if stockings were still a thing in our household, these would make a great stocking filler.
Finally, let’s talk Christmas cards shall we? More specifically, these green ‘Joy to the World’ Christmas cards. The photo doesn’t really do them justice as I really struggled to capture the slight gradient to the green, but I love the gold lettering on front. These cards came in a pack of 10 with the same design, and I’m thinking of actually saving them for next year as I already have cards for those that I give them to!
Or, they are perfect to have on standby in case I get cards through the post and suddenly think OH SHIT I BETTER SEND THEM ONE BACK OR THEY’LL THINK I’M A BLOOD RELATIVE OF SCROOGE.
During my little jaunt around Homesense, I couldn’t resist picking up my new favourite notebook as well, which gets an honorary mention in my latest weekly vlog over on my Youtube channel. Merry Christmas, me!
Do you buy “Christmas extras” for friends and family or do you stick to a plan?
Homesense kindly sent me a gift card for this post. All opinions are my own.
