A Christmas Tale Of The Perfect Advent Calendar…

HAPPY DECEMBER EVERYBODY!

Yes, I know I’m a little bit late but hey, I’m saying it now.

I love December. For me, it’s when you should start saying the “C” word. It’s the time to open up Spotify each morning and blast out the festive tunes. On Friday, I listened to Sia’s Christmas album for the first time and I am 100% on board. If you’re a Sia fan, you’ll abso love it.

December is of course, also the time we have the excuse of eating chocolate everyday. I mean, there was a time when I was pretty much doing that anyway. But now, the advent countdown is all the more special.

This year, I have an advent calendar with a difference. Here’s a little story about how that happened…

Once upon a time, a woman called Cat was out shopping with her long-suffering boyfriend Liam.

“I just want to pop into M&S” she said, swiftly changing course and heading through the automatic doors. Liam followed closely behind.

Cat started looking high and low for the advent calendars. At last, she found them! M&S chocolate is the chocolate she wanted to sample each day, but alas…with the options lacking, Cat left the store empty handed.

Fast forward to the next traditional Tesco trip. Cat once again led Liam to the advent selection. “Bah humbug! Why do Lindtt calendars have those horrible Lindor chocolates in them too?”

And so an idea was born in Liam’s mind… Cat will stop moaning if an advent calendar without Lindor was to exist!

OK, so that’s the simplified version of the story. The real story probably involved a lot more moaning on my part. I can’t be the only one who doesn’t like Lindor? Especially the white chocolate ones *shudder*.

Liam’s idea, as you can probably tell by now was to buy the individual Lindtt chocolates and put them in a pretty box! Luckily, Tesco had an offer on the chocolate bears and so on a separate trip the idea came to life.

Each of the bears, and the Christmas Day reindeer have numbers on. Each day, I scramble through the box looking for the right bear. On December 1st, it took me taking 19 of the bears out to find day 1! The Christmas magic lasts MUCH longer than your average advent!

All in all, the “calendar” cost around £15… that’s £5 more than Lindtt are charging for their so-called bear calendar which also includes gross Lindor. Bitter? Me?

It’s still much cheaper than any beauty calendar, and most importantly has made me one very happy bunny. Liam can stay.

The End.

Hahaha I love this idea! You get more chocolate each day as well and it’s probably less of a waste of cardboard since you can reuse the box instead of throwing away an advent calendar! x

Hahah I love this idea! Lindtt is delicious. The only advent calendars I’ve seen so far have been non brand chocolate so I haven’t bothered this year. I decided to workout on my exercise bike every morning instead of an advent calendar though.

Lindtt is the best chocolate EVER – I got to eat 2 of my advent chocolates last night as I was away overnight on Monday and OMG SO GOOD. Well done on taking the much healthier route for advent!
