OOPS. I may have forgotten that August was ending today. My bad. Still, better late than never eh? Here’s what’s made August great…
handed in: my notice! I’m going freelance guys! I wanted to do a proper announcement post before this went out but lol life got in the way and I haven’t been as active as I’d like with this blogging lark.
registered: as self employed. Taking the first step is always hella exciting so I couldn’t help but feel a buzz when registering with the HMRC as self employed! However, that buzz will dissipate when I have to do my first tax return…
shortlisted: for a bloggers blog award! omg, I did not think this was going to happen but I got shortlisted in the Blogging Guru category of the Bloggers Blog Awards! I’m gutted I can’t make it to the ceremony but will be cheering on and keeping fingers crossed for all my fave bloggers and obv me cos c’mon, I wanna win.
watching: defenders. Words cannot describe my joy of seeing Jessica Jones back on my screen…and Matt Murdock of course.
also watching: atypical. Please go watch this Netflix series, it’s amazing and I want them to keep making the show and shows like it that tackle underrepresented stories. It’s about an 18 year old boy with autism and his struggle finding love and it’s just the perfect blend of drama with comedy. It’s just wonderful.
eating: chinese food. We’re now officially known at our local chinese restaurant and it’s a bit embarrassing but also we dgaf because the food is SO good.
also eating: belgian buns. like a lot. It needs to stop because I’m gaining weight like nobodies business rn.
recording: a new podcast! Me and Liam have started our own podcast called Won’t Grow Up and it’s basically us making each other laugh and talking about how we are no good at adulting. Check us out on Youtube!
guesting: on the Nerd on Nerd podcast. It’s all about podcasts this month, clearly! Check out the Game of Thrones Season 7 special here (this podcast is dark and full of spoilers!)
getting: more autumnal vibes! Last month I was starting to truly feel the autumn vibes and with the weather slowly starting to get chillier, I am getting the hot chocolate at the ready tbh.
exploring: new towns as potential future homes. OK so the search isn’t going brilliantly at the moment, but it is nice to go and see new places even if they aren’t *quite* right for us…
brushing up: on my bowling skills. We visited Woking with our friends Jack and Dan and I didn’t come last in one of the games and that is 100% progress in my bowling ability.
spending: some quality time with my mum. I recently visited home and it obviously involved scones and a trip to Hobbycraft!
So…what’s made your August awesome?
