Monthly Favourites: December 2016

monthly favourites december 2016

Happy December, yo!

Where the flippity flap has this year gone? Although let’s be fair 2016 has been a stinker and maybe it’s best left behind.

But Monthly Faves are all about my highlights for the month, because in these dark times we need to stay positive. So what’s decked my halls this month?

(Is that a euphemism?)

celebrating: birthdays! December marks both my Mum’s birthday and Liam’s birthday and so aside from being a super expensive month, it’s also the month I get to spoil my two favourite people on the planet. So that’s a warm and fuzzy feeling!

also celebrating: Mini Christmas, and actual Christmas! I was thoroughly spoilt, as always!

eating: too much chocolate. So.so.so much chocolate. But still, January is a good chance to start afresh and pretend like I’m going to eat healthier. No but really I will probably have to cut back soon enough. I got a NutriBullet for Christmas so time to eat more fruits and greens!

wearing: my new favourite coat. There is nothing glam about my jacket from Sainbo’s TU range, but it’s super comfy, warm and pretty much the perfect winter coat. I think part of the reason I love it is because I was recommended a much more expensive coat from M&S and managed to find this beaut much cheaper. I really wish I could link to it but it’s no longer on their website 🙁 #notanadIjustloveit.

sidenote: I mentioned this coat in my Nov monthly faves, and my new love for TU as well. My love has grown, and since then I now own another pair of boots, a jumper and lingerie from there. Bargains galore, mate.

watching: Band of Brothers, again. We took an unintended hiatus from Band of Brothers (probs because it’s so mentally draining to watch) – it’s such a brilliantly made show though so check it out if you haven’t yet. For stark contrast, we’ve also been watching South Park again to bring the mood back up.

listening to: the moana soundtrack. I LOVE IT SO MUCH, GUYS. Fantastic film and amazing songs…go see it if you haven’t yet!

also listening to: Rag’n’Bone Man – Human. what.a.tune. I can only really get Radio One for the majority of my commute into work and they seem to be as obsessed with this song as I am. Listen to it here.

remembering: this time last year I passed my theory test. I then passed my practical in April and have been whizzing around in Nelson the red Mini since May. Still seems surreal! He had his first puncture over Christmas which wasn’t exactly ideal but my Dad swooped in and saved the day by taking me to Kwik-Fit the day after Boxing Day!

What’s made your December dapper?

I’ve just eaten everything. It’s almost a problem. Main thing was securing a new flat yay!

Christmas time is all about eating all the chocolate, though, so that’s okay 😉 The Moana soundtrack and Human are great tunes! x

True – otherwise it’ll just be sat around wanting to be eaten! The music in Moana is just too good 🙂 x
